Edwige was initially a model but got her start in a number of European sex comedies which capitalized on her striking good looks and limited inhibitions. But when Mario Bava cast her in Five Doll for an August Moon, it solidified her association with the giallo. She is featured in some of the most iconic films of the genre. A favorite of Sergio Martino, she appeared in many of his films including Blade of the Ripper, All the Colors of the Dark and Eye of the Black Cat. In the DVD extras for Blade of the Ripper, Fenech states that she first met Martino when he was brought in to film additional scenes for Madame Bovary. Her other notable giallo appearances were in Case of the Bloody Iris and Strip Nude for Your Killer.
Edwige Fenech continued to act through the nineties but now rarely appears in film. Although, she was invited by Eli Roth and Quentin Tarantino to appear in the recent Hostel II.
